Today's activities included some afternoon pickin'. We are finding that a lot of our leisure time is directly related to our experiment. Pulling apart giant sunflowers to get the seeds, harvesting fruit, gardening, and much more... The kids "DIG" it!
Palm -o- Granite
We found out later that this pomegranate should be harvested later in the year. They should be red and almost bursting out of their skins before picking.
on to oranges......
and acrobats
and Olympics!
Julian takes his pickin' and runs....
and keeps running......
Move over oranges, make some room for baby....
Kai volunteers to carry the basket. With a big grunt, he estimated the weight at 20 pounds!
Such a treat to see this undisturbed nest. We left this orange for the birds. This was a great opportunity to teach the kids about respecting nature and honoring balance.
In the evening we diced up some tomatoes from the garden and grilled up some turkey that we purchased on a 2 for 1 offer. Some organic corn from our mega Costco bag gets cooked up (Indian style) add some butter and brown. We wash it down with the best glass of orange juice on the planet earth!
